Two car dealerships settle with Revenue

TWO car dealerships in Miltown Malbay have reached settlements with Revenue for more than €127,000.

Derek Considine Car Sales Limited reached a settlement of €73,428.25, for under declaration of VAT in a Revenue audit case. The break down of the settlement was €49,122 in tax, €9,569.65 in interest and €14,736.60 in penalties.

Mark Maguire Motors Ltd, of Ennis Road, Miltown Malbay made a settlement for €53,791, also in a Revenue audit case and for under declaration of VAT. The settlement comprised €38,656.68 in tax, €3,537.32 in interest and €11,597 in penalties.

Tasawar Hussain, a service station and shop operator of Mughal Service Station at Larkin’s Cross in Parteen, made a settlement for €76,628.54 for under declaration of VAT and income tax.

The settlement was for €50,971.70 in tax, €10,365.32 and €15,291.52 in penalties.

Also included in Revenue’s latest list of tax defaulters is Anthony O’Sullivan of 13 Cronan Gardens in Shannon. Involved in TV and satellite installation, he was fined €4,000 for failure to lodge income tax returns.

Gort publican Michael Hennelly was also fined €2,500 for allowing illegal betting at his premises on George’s Street.
